Dear Diary,
Today, I felt the need to pause and reflect on where I am in my shadow work journey. Sometimes, the weight of it feels overwhelming, like I’m carrying a suitcase full of emotions I didn’t pack but somehow have to unpack. It’s in these moments that I know I need to seek guidance.
Shadow work isn’t something I can always do alone. While I believe in my own strength, there are times when I need someone to hold the mirror for me, to gently point out what I can’t see. Over the years, I’ve learned that seeking guidance isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a sign of courage.
I’ve reached out to trusted mentors, spiritual guides, and even turned to my own intuition for answers. Each has given me something valuable:
- My mentors remind me that the journey isn’t linear and that growth often comes in the messiest moments.
- Spiritual guides help me connect the dots between my shadow and my higher purpose.
- My intuition speaks in whispers, guiding me back to the truth I already know deep down.
One of the most profound experiences I’ve had was during a guided meditation with a mentor. They asked me to visualize my shadow as a figure standing across from me. At first, it was intimidating—dark, looming, and silent. But as I sat with it, I realized it wasn’t trying to scare me. It just wanted to be acknowledged.
When I finally asked my shadow what it needed, its answer was simple: love. It didn’t need to be fixed or erased. It just needed to be seen and accepted. That moment changed everything for me.
Now, when I feel stuck, I remind myself to seek guidance—not just from others but also from within. The answers aren’t always immediate, but they come when I’m ready to receive them.
Shadow work is a lifelong journey, and I’m learning that it’s okay to ask for help along the way. Whether it’s through a conversation, a book, a meditation, or even a prayer, guidance always seems to find me when I need it most.
Until next time,
Shanti
